Elizabeth was born in Mexico City and she moved to the United States in the summer of 2000.
She has a BS in Communications from the Olmeca University where she worked at the Continuous Education Department as well as in the Graphic Design and Internal Communications Departments.
She also worked in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico in one of Bechtel’s largest projects with the Mexican Government. While in Bechtel, she worked as a bilingual trainer for the project, she also supported the Human Resources and Document Control Departments as well as serving as personal assistant to the Project Manager. She had the opprtunity to serve as liaison between Bechtel and the client’s management office.
Today, she works at WKZX, Knoxville’s Hispanic FM radio station both as an on air personality and as a sales representative. She also oversees the general administration of the radio station. This job has provided Elizabeth with the opportunity to be a link between the Hispanic and American Communities and to be actively involved in diversity projects.
Elizabeth is currently serving as Vice President for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of East Tennesse and she also sits on the Executive Boards of Pellissippi State Technical Community College and Tennessee Valley Fair.
Elizabeth moved to Knoxville on 2005 with her husband Rudy Bonilla, an Environmental Engineer with over 20 years of career with Bechtel. They have two kids, Rudy and Linda.
